FK Krasnodar have made a €3m offer for FC Nantes winger Yassine Benhattab, as the Algerian’s growing reputation on the European stage begins to trigger a scramble for his signature.
The 22-year-old, who first caught wider attention during a standout spell at Stade de Reims, is under contract at Nantes but is now being closely tracked by several clubs, according to French reports.
The Russian Premier League side are understood to be the first to formalise their interest with a concrete bid, in an attempt to persuade Nantes to part with a player whose value has been steadily increasing.
Krasnodar move as Paris FC monitor
While Paris FC had been credited with strong interest in Benhattab’s profile, it is Krasnodar who have now moved most decisively.
According to Foot Mercato, the club from southern Russia has submitted an opening proposal worth €3m to the Ligue 1 side. The bid marks the first significant step in what could become a wider battle for the winger’s services this summer.
Krasnodar, regular challengers in the upper half of the Russian top flight and occasional participants in European competition, appear to view Benhattab as a relatively low-cost, high-upside addition to their squad.
Paris FC, meanwhile, are yet to go beyond admiration, with no public indication they have matched or bettered the Russian club’s offer.
