Amine El Ouazzani: Morocco-France striker joins Angers SCO on loan from Braga

Angers SCO have added Morocco-France centre-forward Amine El Ouazzani to their attack, signing the 25-year-old on loan from Portuguese side Braga. The deal, completed ahead of the new campaign, brings the left-footed striker back to French football for the 2026-27 season.

El Ouazzani, who was born in Grenoble and stands at 1.88m, joins Angers after two years in Portugal, where he featured in Liga Portugal, the Europa League and domestic cup competitions for Braga. His loan to the Ligue 1 club runs until the end of the season, with his contract in Portugal currently due to expire in 2027.

Before moving to Braga in 2024 for €3.5 million from Guingamp, El Ouazzani had built a strong reputation in French football. Across spells with Bourg-en-Bresse and Guingamp, he scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 61 Ligue 2 appearances, having earlier made his senior breakthrough in the French third tier.

European experience is another part of his profile, with the forward making appearances in both the Europa League and its qualifying rounds for Braga, scoring three times in continental qualifiers. Domestically in Portugal, he added further minutes in league and cup competitions as he adjusted to a new environment.

At international level, El Ouazzani has already enjoyed success with Morocco’s youth set-up, winning the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations title with Morocco U23 in 2023.

The confirmed loan move means El Ouazzani will spend the 2026-27 season with Angers before returning to Braga at the end of the campaign.
