Mohamed Sherif, the Egypt international centre-forward currently at Al Ahly, has been linked with a move to Egyptian Premier League rivals El Masry. The 30-year-old, who wears the No.10 shirt for the Cairo club, is rumoured to be attracting interest despite remaining under contract at Al Ahly until 30 June 2030.
El Masry are understood to be exploring the possibility of prising Sherif away from the reigning domestic and continental champions, with his current market valuation around €500,000. Any deal would therefore require Al Ahly to sanction the departure of a player who has been a regular part of their forward line across league and continental competition.
Sherif rejoined Al Ahly in July 2025 on a free transfer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Khaleej, having previously left the club for the Dammam outfit in 2023. His most extensive body of work has come in the Egyptian Premier League, where he has scored 60 goals and provided 21 assists in 191 appearances, while also delivering 15 goals in 44 CAF Champions League matches.
During his time with Al Ahly he has lifted multiple domestic and continental honours, including the 2022–23 CAF Champions League title. He was also the top scorer in both the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League in the 2020–21 campaign.
For now, Sherif remains an Al Ahly player on a long-term deal, leaving any prospective move to El Masry dependent on the Port Said club presenting an offer that convinces the Cairo giants to part with one of their experienced attacking options.
