Al Ahly SC have reportedly made it clear that Moroccan defender Achraf Dari is not part of their plans for the upcoming season, with the club now actively seeking to secure a permanent exit for the player.
According to a source quoted by Al-Watan Sport, Al Ahly informed Dari that he will not be reintegrated into the squad after his current loan situation failed to produce a long-term solution. The Dutch club involved in the arrangement is also said to have declined to activate a purchase option, leaving the player’s future in limbo.
The same source claims the Egyptian giants have advised the defender to explore permanent transfer options or consider another loan move elsewhere, as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the new campaign.
In a further development, it is reported that Dari’s father intervened in discussions with Al Ahly officials, making it clear that the player is unwilling to accept another loan spell. Instead, he is pushing for a permanent departure from the club, along with full payment of his contractual entitlements for the remaining two years of his deal.
Al Ahly, meanwhile, are said to have drawn up a plan to market the Moroccan international in the Gulf region, with the aim of securing a financially beneficial transfer.
The club’s strategy reportedly involves negotiating with potential buyers to cover the defender’s annual salary, which is believed to be around one million US dollars. However, Al Ahly are also considering contributing part of the wages if necessary in order to facilitate a deal and avoid complications.
Officials are understood to be cautious about the financial and legal implications of any stalled negotiations, including the risk of disputes being escalated to FIFA if an agreement cannot be reached.
