Fulham have reportedly decided against signing Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent deal following the completion of his loan spell from AC Milan.
Reports from Italian media outlet Tuttomercato suggest the London side will not trigger the €24m purchase clause included in the agreement that brought the Super Eagles player to Craven Cottage for the 2025-26 campaign.
The decision means Chukwueze is now expected to return to San Siro ahead of preparations for the new season, although uncertainty remains over whether he will continue with the Italian club beyond the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a productive spell in England despite the temporary nature of the move. Across all competitions, he registered three goals and four assists while providing additional speed and attacking creativity to manager Marco Silva’s side.
During his time at Craven Cottage, Chukwueze produced several impressive displays and frequently demonstrated the dribbling ability and direct attacking style that have made him one of Nigeria’s most recognisable attacking players.
However, despite those performances, Fulham have reportedly decided not to proceed with a permanent transfer, with the club unwilling to meet the financial terms attached to the loan agreement.
The winger’s return to AC Milan comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding his long-term future. The Italian side could decide to reintegrate him into their squad for the coming season or explore opportunities to move him elsewhere during the transfer window.
