Aboutrika mocks Real Madrid after poor first-half display against AEK Athens

Mohamed Aboutrika criticised Real Madrid’s lacklustre defending and sarcastically questioned their players after they fell behind to AEK Athens in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.

AEK Athens took the lead in the 12th minute through Aboubakary Koita, before Jude Bellingham levelled for Real Madrid in the 32nd minute.

Koita created the opening with an impressive piece of skill, dribbling past Cucurella in a tight area inside the penalty box before finishing into the net.

Analysing the first half on beIN Sports, former Egypt and Al Ahly forward Aboutrika said: “Cucurella only needs Yamal,” laughing before adding: “But he is not pressing here.”

He then criticised Real Madrid’s approach during the opening stages.

“Real Madrid’s players started the match with too much showboating and an obvious lack of seriousness,” Aboutrika said. “They produced a very poor first 30 minutes.”

Aboutrika also appeared puzzled by the involvement of Dumfries, asking: “Who does Dumfries play for? I do not know whether he plays for Real Madrid or AEK.”

He reserved particular criticism for Real Madrid’s defenders, mocking the ease with which they were beaten by AEK Athens’ attackers.

“Real Madrid’s players are being dribbled past by radio,” he said. “Hello, come here so I can dribble past you. They are being beaten far too easily.”

The source listing also included Valencia against Real Madrid in La Liga on 07 November 2026, followed by AEK Athens against Levadiakos in the Greek Super League on 08 November 2026.
