Juventus consider January striker move for Sesko, Balogun and Brobbey

Juventus are expected to strengthen their attack in the January transfer window, with Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko, AS Monaco’s Florian Balogun and Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey among the players being considered.

The Italian club have struggled to score consistently this season and have also found it difficult to settle on a regular formation. Some of those problems have been linked to the performances of Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade.

Coach Luciano Spalletti has usually been reluctant to start both players together. One reason is that doing so would leave Juventus without alternative attacking options on the bench to change the game during matches.

According to Calciomercato, the club’s plan is to add further attacking depth when the transfer window opens in January. That could see Juventus revisit players they have previously considered, including Sesko, although the Manchester United forward is currently injured.

Balogun is another possible target. The United States Men’s National Team striker is under contract at AS Monaco until June 2028, but his situation has led to suggestions that he could be sold in the coming months rather than risk leaving as a free agent later on.

The 25-year-old has scored once in five Ligue 1 appearances this season. He had been close to joining Everton but refused to sign the contract after a tense medical examination, causing that move to collapse.

Brobbey, 24, has also been identified as an option. He has scored three goals in eight games for Sunderland this season and extended his contract with the club until 2031 earlier this week.

Juventus are also monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt player Younes Ebnoutalib, who has made an impressive start to the campaign. The 23-year-old has scored eight goals in 10 competitive matches and has previous experience of Italian football after spending two years at Perugia.

The most notable potential option could be Italian forward Antonio Raimondo. He has scored nine goals in 11 matches across Serie A and the Coppa Italia for Frosinone this season.

Raimondo remains owned by Bologna and joined Frosinone on loan in the summer of 2025. He helped Bologna secure promotion from Serie B, but his current campaign has been interrupted by a sprained ankle.

The injury could result in a lengthy absence and may encourage Juventus to focus on alternative targets before the January window opens.
