Liverpool match Arsenal defeat equals unwanted home-scoring record

Liverpool have scored only four goals in their first five home matches in the Premier League this season, matching their lowest total at this stage of a campaign.

The figure was brought into focus after Liverpool suffered a narrow home defeat by London club Arsenal in the 10th round of the English championship.

Liverpool failed to score against Arsenal, leaving them with their joint-lowest number of goals after five home games. They also had four goals at the same point in the 1913/1914 and 2012/2013 seasons.

Liverpool have now lost two matches in the current campaign. Their next league fixture will be against another London club, Crystal Palace, on Sunday, 8 November.
