Nigeria and England defender Calvin Okike has joined Morton from Hull U21 on loan, giving the Scottish club an 18-year-old centre-back for the 2026-27 season.
The move was completed on 3 September 2026, with Okike’s loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. He will wear Morton’s number six shirt and remains contracted to Hull U21, who will take him back at the end of the temporary switch.
Okike moved into Hull’s under-21 side in July after beginning the 2025-26 campaign with the club’s under-18s. His recent playing record also includes a loan spell at Hartlepool, where he made five National League appearances and scored once. That spell began in February 2026 and ended in April.
The defender made six appearances in the Premier League Cup and two in the FA Youth Cup during the period covered by his career record. He has also been credited with 423 minutes in the Premier League Cup and 135 minutes in the FA Youth Cup.
Okike joined Hartlepool after progressing from Hull U18, while his earlier development included a move from Sunderland’s youth set-up to Hull in July 2024 on a free transfer. The switch to Morton is therefore his latest move since entering senior football through Hull’s academy system.
Morton, also known as Greenock Morton, will be Okike’s next club as he continues his career in Scotland. The move takes him away from Hull’s under-21 set-up and into the club’s first-team environment for the duration of the loan.
Born on 10 October 2007, Okike is eligible to represent both Nigeria and England. He joins Morton as a defender whose listed primary position is centre-back.
Okike’s transfer to Morton was completed on loan from Hull U21 on 3 September 2026, with the agreement ending on 30 June 2027.
