Moroccan centre-back Karim El Bounagate, currently with COD Meknes, has been linked with a move to Esperance in Tunisia’s Ligue 1.
The 25-year-old defender joined COD Meknes from Libyan side Al-Sadaqa SC on 1 July 2025, moving on a free transfer. He is valued at €450,000 and has established experience in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi, where he has made 83 appearances and scored twice.
El Bounagate’s potential move would represent a return to North African competition outside Morocco after his spell with Al-Sadaqa SC. Before that, he played for OC Safi and O. Khouribga, while also spending part of the 2021-22 season with Al-Akhdar in Libya.
The left-footed defender is listed at 1.89m and has played primarily at centre-back throughout his senior career. His record includes 6,752 minutes in the Botola Pro Inwi, along with 13 appearances and one assist in the Libyan Premier League.
El Bounagate remains a COD Meknes player, with Esperance’s reported interest yet to develop into a confirmed transfer.
