Ampem Darkoa Ladies have taken a commanding 3-0 lead over Dynamique FC at half-time in the second semi-final of the UFOA B women’s tournament.
The Ghanaian side made a fast start and established a clear advantage before the interval, with three different players finding the net in a dominant first-half display.
Milot Abena opened the scoring in the 17th minute, giving Ampem Darkoa Ladies the lead after less than 20 minutes. Rebecca Assemani then doubled their advantage in the 28th minute, leaving Dynamique FC facing an increasingly difficult task.
Gloria Adamako added a third goal in the 38th minute to complete a highly productive opening half for the Ghanaian team. The scoreline leaves Dynamique FC needing a major second-half recovery if they are to overturn the deficit and keep their hopes of reaching the final alive.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ performance continues their impressive progress in the competition. Having completed a perfect group-stage campaign, the Ghanaian side have carried that strength into the knockout phase and are now within sight of a place in the final.
Their three-goal advantage also puts them in a strong position as they seek to finish the job after the break. Dynamique FC, meanwhile, must find a way to respond quickly if they are to change the course of the match.
The winners will face Edo Queens of Nigeria in the final, with the Nigerian side already waiting to discover their opponents. Ampem Darkoa Ladies currently hold the advantage in the race to meet them, although the semi-final remains unfinished at half-time.
The first-half scoring sequence reflected Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ control of the contest. Abena’s opener gave them the platform to build on, Assemani extended the lead 11 minutes later, and Adamako’s goal before the interval left Dynamique FC with a substantial deficit.
At 3-0, the Ghanaian side have put themselves in a strong position to reach the tournament final. Dynamique FC’s immediate challenge is to prevent the gap from widening and then attempt the significant comeback required to keep the tie alive.
For now, Ampem Darkoa Ladies are in command after a clinical first 45 minutes, while Dynamique FC face the task of producing a very different performance in the second half if they are to deny the Ghanaian team a place in the final.
