Cameroon’s U17 side continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar with two convincing victories in Yaoundé.
The Junior Lions defeated Dauphine FC 8-0 before beating Lumière Academy 4-2 as coach Libiih Thomas stepped up his assessment of the squad ahead of the tournament.
The two matches formed part of an intensive training camp at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza, where 60 players have been called up as Cameroon prepare for their World Cup campaign.
The latest results provide a positive indication of the progress being made during the camp, with the young Cameroonians scoring 12 goals across the two games.
Cameroon had entered their seventh day of preparations on Monday, 31 August, with the full group of 60 players now assembled at the technical centre.
The coaching staff has been using the training camp to assess the players and determine the squad’s readiness for the global tournament.
The Junior Lions had already undergone their first evaluation tests on Friday, 28 August, against an academy from Ebolowa.

The latest fixtures against Dauphine FC and Lumière Academy have provided another opportunity for the coaching staff to examine the squad in competitive situations.
The 8-0 victory over Dauphine FC was followed by a more closely contested 4-2 win against Lumière Academy.
Together, the results have allowed Thomas Libiih and his technical team to continue evaluating the players as preparations intensify.
