Marcelo Brozovic is being considered by three clubs after becoming a free agent, with Fiorentina, Trabzonspor and Al-Ittihad reportedly competing for the former Inter Milan and Al-Nassr midfielder.
The 33-year-old Croatia international is attracting attention following the end of his spell in Saudi Arabia. Journalist Nicolo Schira reported on social media that the three clubs are involved in the race to sign Brozovic.
Brozovic spent the past three seasons with Al-Nassr, where he played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Across his time at the Saudi Arabian club, the midfielder made 124 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 23 assists.
He is now available without a transfer fee, although his experience and standing in the game mean that potential suitors may still have to meet his wage demands. Brozovic’s estimated transfer value is €8m, despite his current status as an unattached player.
Fiorentina are among the clubs interested in securing his services. The Italian side would offer Brozovic the chance to return to the country where he established himself at the highest level during his time with Inter Milan.
Trabzonspor are also reported to be pursuing the midfielder, while Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad complete the three-team contest for his signature.
Brozovic’s most recent campaign was the third and final season of his Al-Nassr career. During that period, he added to a record that includes 124 appearances for the club, along with eight goals and 23 assists over the full three-season spell.
The Croatian previously spent time with Inter Milan before moving to Saudi Arabia, where he became one of the experienced midfielders in Al-Nassr’s squad. His availability has now opened the possibility of another move, with interest coming from clubs in Italy, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
No destination has been confirmed, but Fiorentina, Trabzonspor and Al-Ittihad are the clubs currently linked with the free agent. The reported valuation of €8m reflects Brozovic’s market standing, even though any acquiring club would not need to negotiate a conventional transfer with Al-Nassr.
For now, the midfielder remains without a club as the three interested sides assess whether to make their interest concrete. The competition gives Brozovic several options after his three-year period with Al-Nassr, where his final recorded contribution was 124 matches, eight goals and 23 assists.
