Juventus have contacted Tottenham Hotspur to ask about the availability of midfielder Pape Sarr, according to Italian journalist Di Marzio on 29 August (CEST).
The Italian club are considering a loan deal for the Senegal international as they look to strengthen their midfield before the summer transfer window closes. Juventus’ enquiry represents an initial approach, with no agreement reported between the two clubs.
Sarr has become the latest midfield target identified by Juventus after the club’s previous interest in Kessie failed to produce a deal. Di Marzio had earlier reported that Kessie rejected an offer from the Bianconeri, prompting Juventus to explore alternative options.
The focus has now turned to Sarr, who is 23 and joined Tottenham from Metz in the summer of 2021. Since moving to the Premier League club, he has made 141 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists.
Juventus are understood to be assessing whether a temporary transfer could be arranged for the Senegalese midfielder. Their enquiry to Tottenham is centred on the player’s availability and the possibility of taking him on loan, rather than an immediate permanent transfer.
