Chelsea forward Marc Guiu is close to joining Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, with the proposed move understood to have reached its final stages, according to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The German club is currently negotiating the remaining details of the deal, with an agreement now believed to be close. The transfer is expected to be a permanent move rather than a loan, although the final terms are still being settled between the two clubs.
Chelsea are also expected to include a clause giving them a percentage of any future sale of Guiu. The exact figure involved in that arrangement has not been disclosed.
Guiu joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2024, with the English club paying €6m for the Spain Under-? forward. Since his arrival, the 20-year-old has made 29 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing two assists.
His current market value is estimated at €12m by Transfermarkt, twice the fee Chelsea paid to sign him from Barcelona.
The reported move to RB Leipzig would bring Guiu’s time at Chelsea to an end if the final details are agreed. At present, however, the transfer remains at the negotiation stage, with the Bundesliga side working to complete the outstanding elements of the deal.
Guiu’s record for Chelsea stands at eight goals in 29 matches, alongside his two assists. The proposed agreement would allow Chelsea to retain a financial interest in the striker should RB Leipzig sell him in the future.
Romano’s report indicates that the negotiations have progressed significantly, but no completed transfer has yet been announced. The two clubs are continuing discussions before the deal can be finalised.
For now, the key points under consideration are the final contractual details and Chelsea’s future-sale percentage. If those issues are resolved, Guiu will leave Chelsea on a permanent basis and continue his career with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
