French-Malian midfielder Youssouf Fofana is being linked with a move from AC Milan to Brighton in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder joined Milan from Monaco on 17 August 2024 in a deal worth €26m and remains under contract with the Italian club until 30 June 2028. His current market value is listed at €23m.
Fofana has not featured for Milan in Serie A during the 2026-27 season, with one league match played so far. The latest indication of interest places Brighton among the clubs monitoring his situation, although there is no confirmed agreement between the Premier League side and Milan.
Fofana made his senior breakthrough at Strasbourg before moving to Monaco in January 2020. He spent four seasons with Monaco and established himself in France’s midfield, later being part of the squad that finished as World Cup runners-up in 2022.
At Milan, he was part of the team that won the Italian Super Cup in the 2024-25 season. A move to Brighton would place the France- and Mali-eligible player in the Premier League, but the available details do not indicate whether negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Fofana’s existing Milan contract runs through June 2028, leaving the club under no immediate pressure to sell.
