Abdullah Al-Salem says he remains committed to Al Qadsiah and has no knowledge of the offers reportedly linking him with a move to Al Hilal during the current transfer window.
The Saudi Arabia forward confirmed that he intends to stay with Al Qadsiah and is focused on helping the club achieve its targets in the new season.
“I am settled and staying with Al Qadsiah, and I am seeking to serve the club. I do not know anything at all about these offers,” Al-Salem told Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.
His comments provide a clear response to speculation about his future, with reports having connected him with a possible transfer to Al Hilal before the close of the current transfer period.
Al-Salem did not indicate that he was considering leaving Al Qadsiah. Instead, he underlined his commitment to the club and said his ambitions were centred on winning silverware with the team.
“Our ambition this season is to win a trophy with the team,” he said.
The forward also praised Al Qadsiah’s preparations for the campaign, describing the club’s training camp in Spain as a particularly positive part of the build-up.
“The Spain camp was very successful,” Al-Salem said.
His comments suggest that he believes the team is in a strong position ahead of the start of the new season. The striker’s assessment followed a period of preparation that he feels has helped the squad reach the required level of readiness.
Al-Salem also credited Al Qadsiah’s hierarchy for the work carried out over recent seasons. He said the club’s administration had invested considerable effort in developing a long-term project and creating the foundations for future progress.
“Al Qadsiah’s administration has worked hard in previous seasons to make the club’s project a success,” he said.
The forward added that the club was now approaching the point at which that work could begin to produce tangible results. He believes the coming campaign could represent an important stage in Al Qadsiah’s development.
“I believe this season will be the season when we reap the rewards,” Al-Salem said.
Those remarks effectively ended, for now, the speculation surrounding his position at Al Qadsiah. Rather than discussing a potential move to Al Hilal, the forward has presented his immediate future as being with his current club and said his attention is on contributing to its pursuit of a trophy.
Al-Salem’s comments come as clubs continue to finalise their squads during the current transfer window, but he has made clear that he considers himself settled at Al Qadsiah and remains committed to the team’s plans for the new season.
