Bayern Munich and Chelsea assess Morgan Gibbs-White as Nottingham Forest set firm summer stance

Morgan Gibbs-White is attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Chelsea, but Nottingham Forest have no intention of selling the England midfielder this summer unless they receive an exceptionally lucrative offer.

Chelsea are regarded as the leading contenders for the 26-year-old, despite Bayern Munich also entering the race for the Nottingham Forest player. The interest from both clubs emerged after Gibbs-White decided to change his agent, according to Transfer News Live, citing the Daily Mail.

The development has placed the midfielder on the radar of two of European football’s biggest clubs, although neither Bayern Munich nor Chelsea has been identified as having agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest. Chelsea are currently considered the club most likely to pursue the transfer, with Bayern Munich also monitoring the situation.

Nottingham Forest’s position remains clear: Gibbs-White is not currently available for sale. The club are understood to be unwilling to part with the midfielder during the summer transfer window under normal circumstances.

That stance could change if an offer arrives which Nottingham Forest consider too attractive to reject. The report does not state what level of bid would persuade the club to reconsider, but it describes the required proposal as exceptionally profitable for Forest.

Transfermarkt values Gibbs-White at 70m euros, an indication of the potential scale of any deal involving the player. That figure does not represent an asking price confirmed by Nottingham Forest, but it provides a current estimate of the midfielder’s market value.

Gibbs-White is therefore at the centre of a developing transfer tussle between Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Chelsea hold the stronger position at present, while Bayern Munich remain interested after taking note of the player’s decision to appoint a new agent.

For now, however, Nottingham Forest’s desire to retain Gibbs-White means interested clubs may have to make a significant financial commitment before the situation changes. The midfielder’s future will depend on whether either Chelsea or Bayern Munich is prepared to meet the level of offer required to persuade Forest to abandon their preference to keep him.
