Matthias Jaissle has addressed Al-Ahli Saudi FC supporters for the first time since his departure, thanking them for the trust they showed him and describing his three-year spell in Jeddah as one of the defining periods of his coaching career.
The German manager left the Saudi club after resigning in a difficult period before the start of the new season. His decision came with one year still remaining on his contract and prompted strong criticism from sections of the Al-Ahli fanbase.
Jaissle used his official Instagram account to publish an emotional message aimed at the supporters who backed him during his time with the club. He said they were the first people to believe in him after his arrival in Jeddah and linked his departure with the major successes achieved during his tenure.
“From the first day, you, the fans, were the ones who gave me confidence and believed in me. After three years, winning two AFC Champions League Elite titles, lifting the Saudi Super Cup and experiencing so many unforgettable moments, I leave Jeddah carrying nothing but pride and love for you,” said Jaissle.
The 37-year-old’s period in charge included two AFC Champions League Elite triumphs, as well as victory in the Saudi Super Cup. His message referred to the matches, difficulties and celebrations that shaped his relationship with the club and its supporters.
“Every match, every challenge and every celebration made this journey unforgettable,” he added.
Jaissle ended his statement by thanking Al-Ahli’s fans for their continued faith and wishing the club success in the next stage of its development.
“Thank you for your trust and belief in me. I wish you all the best,” he said.
