Newcastle United have denied reports that they have reached an agreement with Algeria international Anis Hadj Moussa or made significant progress in negotiations with Feyenoord over a potential transfer.
Speculation linking Hadj Moussa with a move to the Premier League club intensified in recent hours. Several media outlets reported that the 23-year-old had agreed personal terms with Newcastle on a five-year contract, while discussions between the English club and Feyenoord were described as being at an advanced stage.
However, Newcastle have moved quickly to reject those claims. Ross Wilson, the club’s sporting director, said there was no agreement with Hadj Moussa and no advanced negotiations involving the player.
Speaking to 365Scores, Wilson said the reports circulating in recent days did not accurately reflect the situation.
The clarification from Newcastle puts a brake on the growing speculation surrounding the Algeria international, although it does not completely rule out the possibility of a transfer before the end of the current window. At present, there is no confirmed agreement between the player and the Premier League club, nor has Newcastle indicated that talks with Feyenoord have reached an advanced stage.
Hadj Moussa, meanwhile, has returned to training with Feyenoord after his holiday and is continuing his preparations for the new season as normal. Despite the attention surrounding his future, the winger remains focused on his work with the Dutch club.
He remains an important member of Feyenoord’s squad and is under contract with the club until 30 June 2030. That long-term deal gives Feyenoord a strong contractual position should interest in the player develop further before the transfer deadline.
Hadj Moussa’s current market value is estimated at 23 million euros by Transfermarkt. His annual salary is reported to be 490,000 euros, equivalent to 318,500,000 FCFA.
