Brest linked with Alaves defender Moussa Diarra

Malian-French centre-back Moussa Diarra is linked with a move from Spanish club Alaves to French side Stade Brestois.

The 25-year-old defender has been contracted to Alaves since joining from Toulouse in July 2024, and remains tied to the La Liga club until 30 June 2028. He spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Belgian club RSC Anderlecht before returning to Alaves at the end of June.

Diarra has made 29 La Liga appearances for Alaves, having previously played 46 times in Ligue 1 and 42 times in Ligue 2 during his career. He has also featured in the Europa League and Copa del Rey.

The defender began his senior career with Toulouse and was part of the team that won the French second-tier title in 2021-22. He also collected a French Cup winners’ medal with the club in 2022-23 before departing on a free transfer.

A move to Brest would represent a return to France for Diarra, who was born in Stains and holds Malian and French nationality. His current market valuation is €2m, while his existing contract with Alaves means any transfer would involve an agreement between the clubs rather than a free move.
