France-Mali winger Moussa Diaby has been linked with a move from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad to Portuguese side Benfica.
Diaby, 27, joined Al-Ittihad from Aston Villa in July 2024 in a deal worth €60m. He signed a contract running until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would require Benfica to negotiate with the Saudi Arabian club rather than wait for the player to become a free agent.
The left-footed right winger has made 55 Saudi Pro League appearances for Al-Ittihad, scoring nine goals and providing 23 assists. He was part of the side that won the Saudi Arabian championship and the Saudi Cup in the 2024-25 season.
A move to Benfica would represent another change of league for Diaby, who spent the 2023-24 campaign with Aston Villa after four seasons at Bayer Leverkusen. He made 38 Premier League appearances for Villa, scoring six goals and registering 10 assists.
Diaby began his senior career at Paris St-Germain and won the French league and French Super Cup with the club in 2018-19. He also won the UEFA Nations League with France in 2021.
His current market value is listed at €25m, although his long-term Al-Ittihad contract and the €60m fee paid for him two years ago could shape any negotiations with Benfica.
