Ghazl El Mahalla approve Cairo training camp to prepare for Pharco fixture

Ghazl El Mahalla SC have approved plans to hold a closed training camp in Cairo as part of their preparations for an upcoming Egyptian Premier League fixture against Pharco FC.

The decision, described as an internal measure to enhance performance, was sanctioned by the club’s board of directors led by Walid Khalil, following a request from the technical staff headed by Alaa Abdel Aal. The camp is scheduled to take place in the lead-up to the match, which will be played on the fourth of next month at Borg El Arab Stadium.

Focus on correcting technical shortcomings

The move comes after a series of recent performances in the domestic league that exposed areas requiring improvement. The coaching staff have identified technical errors that they believe need immediate attention if the team is to remain competitive in the next phase of the season.

By relocating to Cairo for a closed camp, the squad will be able to train in a more controlled and focused environment, away from external distractions. Such camps are commonly used by teams seeking to recalibrate tactics, reinforce discipline, and refine match readiness during critical periods.

Alaa Abdel Aal is understood to have prioritised tactical organisation and cohesion, particularly in response to issues observed in recent matches. The aim is to ensure that the team enters the Pharco encounter with improved structure and execution.

Friendly matches planned to boost readiness

As part of the preparations, the technical staff have also requested the organisation of two friendly matches during the camp period. These fixtures are expected to provide players with additional match practice, allowing the coaching team to assess progress and make further adjustments.

Friendly matches often serve as a testing ground for tactical variations and player combinations, offering valuable insights ahead of competitive fixtures. For Ghazl El Mahalla, they represent an opportunity to translate training ground improvements into on-field performance.

Key fixture on the horizon

The upcoming match against Pharco is seen as an important test for the team, particularly given the need to respond positively to recent results. With the Egyptian Premier League entering a decisive stage, each match carries increased significance for teams seeking to improve their standings.

The choice of Borg El Arab Stadium as the venue adds further weight to the encounter, with both sides expected to approach the fixture with determination.

Strategic preparation ahead of crucial phase

The approval of the Cairo camp highlights the club’s intent to address shortcomings proactively and strengthen the squad’s competitive edge. By combining intensive training with preparatory matches, Ghazl El Mahalla aim to build momentum ahead of a demanding period in the league calendar.

Supporters will now look to see whether these measures translate into improved performances when the team faces Pharco, in what could prove to be a pivotal moment in their campaign.
