Coba da Costa: Guinea-Bissau winger joins Al-Kholood from Getafe in €2m deal

Guinea-Bissau and Spanish winger Coba da Costa has joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Kholood from Getafe in a permanent transfer worth €2m.

The 23-year-old left winger, who was born in La Mojonera and is right-footed, moves to the Saudi Pro League after breaking into Getafe’s first team from their B side and gaining top-flight experience in Spain and Belgium. He arrives at Al-Kholood with a current market value of €1.5m.

Da Costa was promoted from Getafe CF B to the senior squad during the 2024-25 campaign, having originally joined the Madrid club’s reserve team from UB Conquense. He went on to make 33 LaLiga appearances for Getafe, scoring once and providing one assist, and also featured six times in the Copa del Rey, contributing two assists.

In February 2026 he headed to RSC Anderlecht on loan, playing in both the Jupiler Pro League and its championship play-offs as well as the Belgian Cup, before returning to Getafe at the end of that spell. His performances across Spain’s top tier and in Belgium helped establish him as a regular option on the left flank prior to his move to the Middle East.

Earlier in his career, da Costa had stints with UB Conquense and Slovenian side Tabor Sezana following spells in Spanish regional football, gradually working his way up from youth and lower-division sides.

Da Costa’s transfer, completed on 22 July 2026, sees him leave LaLiga for the Saudi Pro League as he begins the next stage of his career with Al-Kholood.
