Thomas Partey, the Ghana international currently without a club after leaving Villarreal, is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. The 33-year-old defensive midfielder became a free agent on 1 July 2026 and is now weighing up his next step after a long spell at the top level in Spain and England.
Al-Nassr are exploring the possibility of adding Partey’s experience to their midfield as they continue to build a squad capable of competing at the top of the Saudi Pro League. Any deal would not require a transfer fee, with the player available to sign immediately following the end of his short stint at Villarreal, which began when he joined the La Liga club from Arsenal in August 2025.
Partey’s market value was last listed at €2m, a sharp drop from his peak valuation of €50m during his prime years with Atletico Madrid and Arsenal. He has amassed 188 La Liga appearances and 130 Premier League games across his career, underlining the level of experience Al-Nassr would be acquiring if negotiations progress.
The midfielder has also maintained his place on the international stage, featuring for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, where he started most of their matches. His career honours include winning the Spanish title with Atletico Madrid in 2020-21 and lifting the English Super Cup with Arsenal in 2023-24.
Partey is currently free to negotiate with interested clubs and has no contractual ties following his departure from Villarreal, leaving Al-Nassr among the leading contenders as they assess a move for the veteran midfielder.
