Franco-Congolese winger Exauce Mpembele Boula has joined Bourg-en-Bresse on loan from US Boulogne as the Ligue 3 side move to strengthen their attacking options for the new campaign.
The 24-year-old left winger, born in Kinshasa and standing at 1.85m, makes the switch after a spell with Boulogne that followed a series of eye-catching seasons in the French lower divisions. The deal is a straight loan transfer running until 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to the Ligue 2 club.
Mpembele Boula is right-footed but operates primarily from the left, and arrives with a strong scoring record at National level. Across his time in the French pyramid he has delivered double figures in several campaigns, including 20 goals in 26 appearances in National 2 Group C, and nine goals in just 12 matches in National 1 Group B. He has also featured higher up the ladder with 10 outings in Ligue 2 and has experience in the Coupe de France, where he scored on his only appearance.
Before joining Boulogne on a free transfer in 2025, Mpembele Boula had spells with Lorient B and Wasquehal after coming through the youth ranks at Lille, progressing from U17 to the B team. His performances in the Championnat National 3 in 2024-25 earned him the division’s top goalscorer award with 20 goals.
Mpembele Boula is under contract at Bourg-en-Bresse until June 2027 as part of his loan move from Boulogne.
