Uganda midfielder Missi Semugera has joined Uganda Premier League side Kitara on a free transfer from SC Villa Jogoo. The 27-year-old central midfielder has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028 after leaving Villa at the end of his previous deal.
Semugera, who is valued at around €150,000, strengthens Kitara’s options in the middle of the pitch ahead of the new campaign. The move keeps him in the Ugandan top flight, where he has built a reputation as a reliable presence in central midfield.
During his time with SC Villa Jogoo, Semugera featured regularly in the Uganda Premier League, making 49 appearances and scoring once, while clocking up 3,724 minutes of league football. His durability and experience at this level were key factors in Kitara’s decision to bring him in on a long-term deal.
The Kampala-born midfielder has already tasted domestic success, having won the FUFA Super 8 Cup once earlier in his career. That achievement adds silverware to a profile built on consistency rather than headline-grabbing numbers.
Semugera’s arrival on a free transfer represents a significant piece of business for Kitara, who secure an established Uganda Premier League midfielder on a contract through to 2028.
