Mohamed Salah could be on course to face former Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk in European competition after reports claimed the Egyptian forward is preparing to leave Liverpool FC during the 2026 summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old is said to be attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe and the Middle East, with speculation growing over the next stage of his career following a long spell at Anfield.
Reports suggest that clubs in the Saudi Professional League remain keen on signing the Liverpool forward, with Al Hilal SFC and Al Ittihad Club both mentioned as possible destinations.
In addition to interest from Saudi Arabia, Turkish clubs are also reportedly monitoring the situation closely. Among them, Fenerbahçe SK are said to have already made an approach for the Egyptian international.
According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Fenerbahce are actively pursuing the Liverpool forward and have positioned themselves as one of the strongest European contenders for his signature. The club is also home to several former Premier League players, including ex-Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kanté.
Financial offer and decision pending
Reports indicate that Salah has been offered an annual salary of around 20 million euros, which equates to approximately 384,000 euros per week. That figure is slightly below his current wage at Liverpool, reported to be around 400,000 pounds per week.
The proposal from Fenerbahce is believed to be among the most competitive offers currently available from European clubs, although Salah has yet to make a final decision on whether he would consider a move to Turkey.
