Zamalek prepare for Confederation Cup final with final team briefing

Zamalek’s first team will receive their final tactical instructions on Saturday evening as they prepare to face USM Alger in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final.

First team football manager Moataz Gamal is scheduled to deliver a technical lecture to the players at 19:30 local time at the team hotel, where he is expected to outline the key tactical approach for the match and provide last-minute guidance before the squad departs for the stadium.

The Egyptian side are entering one of their most important fixtures of the season, with the two-legged final against the Algerian club set to determine the continental champions. The first leg will take place later on Saturday at the July 5 Stadium in Algiers, with kick-off scheduled for 22:00 local time.

Gamal’s session is expected to focus on specific technical aspects that the team will need to execute during the match, as well as reinforcing discipline and structure ahead of what is anticipated to be a tightly contested encounter.

As part of the final preparations, the Zamalek technical staff are also set to make a key decision regarding midfielder Mohamed Shehata. His role and availability for the match are expected to be clarified during the meeting, with the coaching team weighing their options ahead of the crucial fixture.

The first leg in Algeria will give both sides an early advantage in the tie, before the contest shifts to Egypt for the return match. That second leg is scheduled to be played at Cairo International Stadium on May 16, with kick-off set for 21:00 local time.

Zamalek will be aiming to secure a positive result away from home to strengthen their position ahead of the decisive return fixture, while USM Alger will look to capitalise on home advantage in front of their supporters.

Saturday’s encounter represents a significant test for both teams, with the outcome of the first leg likely to shape the dynamics of the final heading into the second match.

With preparations now entering their final phase, Zamalek’s focus remains firmly on execution, as Gamal and his staff seek to ensure the players are fully equipped—both tactically and mentally for the challenge ahead.
