German-Cameroonian defender Yannick Mausehund of 1.FC Koln II is being linked with a move to 3. Liga side Alemannia Aachen as the fourth-tier Regionalliga West club face interest in one of their young centre-backs.
The 20-year-old, who represents a dual Germany-Cameroon background, is under contract with Koln until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require Aachen to negotiate a transfer fee rather than wait for a free move. His potential switch would see him step up a division from the Regionalliga West into the national third tier.
Mausehund’s current estimated market value stands at around €100,000, giving an early indication of the scale of fee that might be needed to prise him away from Koln’s second team. The rumour is currently being assessed as having a 19% probability of going through, underlining that talks, if any, remain at a preliminary stage rather than an advanced negotiation.
Koln II have used the Regionalliga setup as a bridge towards senior football, and Mausehund’s performances at centre-back have now brought attention from a historic club seeking to reinforce their defensive options for a 3. Liga campaign.
With Mausehund tied to Koln for another year beyond the coming season, his contractual position gives the Bundesliga club a degree of leverage, and Aachen are likely to have to decide quickly whether to firm up their interest before his value or role in Cologne’s plans changes.
