Burkina Faso face South Africa in their final Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 group match on Tuesday, with the game starting at 22:00 French time and 20:00 in Burkina Faso.
The Group B fixture will be played at Stade Moulay Rachid in Casablanca. Viewers in France can watch the match live on beIN Sports Max 4 or beIN Sports Max 5, while the game will be broadcast in Burkina Faso on both Canal+ Sport and RTB.
Burkina Faso must win if they are to reach the quarter-finals for the first time in their history. Their fate is not dependent on the result of the other Group B match between Tanzania and Cote d’Ivoire: regardless of that outcome, victory against South Africa is essential.
The Etalons Dames began their campaign with a heavy 4-1 defeat by Cote d’Ivoire before responding with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania. They are currently third in the group, level on points with Tanzania, who sit second but have the advantage on goal difference.
That leaves Burkina Faso needing three points in Casablanca to move into the knockout phase. Their challenge comes against a South Africa side who are also required to win if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the last eight alive.
South Africa drew 2-2 with Cote d’Ivoire in their previous match, recovering after falling two goals behind. The Banyana Banyana’s late fightback earned them a point, but they still need a victory in their final group fixture to have a chance of progressing to the knockout rounds.
Tuesday’s game will be the first meeting between Burkina Faso and South Africa at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The teams did, however, face each other during qualifying in 2023.
Burkina Faso held South Africa to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of that tie, but South Africa won the return match 2-0. The earlier results will add context to a fixture in which both sides enter with qualification still at stake.
For Burkina Faso, the route is straightforward: only a win will deliver a historic quarter-final place. South Africa are in the same position, meaning the final Group B match will determine whether either team can continue into the elimination stage.
