Reports suggesting Palestinian striker Wessam Abu Ali could return to Al Ahly during the upcoming winter transfer window have been dismissed by former Al Ahly and Egypt goalkeeper Ahmed Shobier.
The possibility of Abu Ali rejoining the club had prompted questions among Al Ahly supporters, but Shobier said there was currently no prospect of the forward returning under Moroccan manager Hussein Ammouta.
Writing on the social media platform X, Shobier said: “I am absolutely certain, a million per cent, that the greatest signing Al Ahly have made in recent years among foreign players was Wessam Abu Ali, even though he played for a very short time.”
