Tunisia midfielder Mohamed Ameur Belghith has joined ES Metlaoui from AS Gabes, strengthening the Ligue 1 club with a 25-year-old defensive midfielder.
Belghith completed the move on 3 August 2026 and has signed a contract with ES Metlaoui running until 30 June 2027. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the switch.
The midfielder arrives after one season with AS Gabes, having moved there from ES Zarzis in August 2025. He made 47 Ligue 1 appearances during his career, playing 2,705 minutes in the competition, and has also featured twice in the Tunisian Cup.
Belghith began his senior career with US Monastir and spent time away from the club on loan at CS Tabarka and SC Moknine. He later joined Taweek Club on loan before returning to US Monastir in June 2024. His move to ES Zarzis followed that return in a free transfer.
The transfer gives ES Metlaoui a midfielder with experience across several Tunisian clubs and a record of appearances in the country’s top flight. Belghith’s previous competitive experience includes Ligue 1 and the Tunisian Cup, while his primary role is in defensive midfield.
He joins ES Metlaoui with a listed market value of €175,000 and becomes part of the club’s squad for the 2026-27 season. The transfer was completed on 3 August, with his new contract secured for the next campaign and beyond.
Belghith has therefore left AS Gabes to join ES Metlaoui on a deal lasting until June 2027.
