Trabzonspor turn to Dusan Vlahovic as Mohamed Salah talks continue

Trabzonspor have entered the race to sign Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic after his departure from Juventus, as the Turkish club continue their efforts to secure Mohamed Salah.

According to Turkish website Sporx, Trabzonspor have contacted Vlahovic’s agent and made an initial proposal for the striker. The move represents a second high-profile attacking target for the club, which is also working on a deal for Egypt forward Mohamed Salah.

Vlahovic is currently waiting to see whether he can fulfil his ambition of joining Barcelona. His preference for a move to the Catalan club has influenced his decision-making as he considers the offers available to him.

The 25-year-old has already received a substantial proposal from Besiktas, according to Spanish newspaper Sport. That offer has reportedly been on the table for almost a month and includes a signing-on bonus of more than 5m euros, together with a net annual salary of 8m euros in each of the two proposed seasons.

Vlahovic asked for time to consider Besiktas’ terms. The club initially gave him until 10 August to provide an answer, but the player requested additional time because he wanted to wait for further clarity over Barcelona’s position.

His representatives offered him to Barcelona at the beginning of the transfer window. However, the club made it clear that the Serbian was not a priority, particularly because his initial financial demands were considered unsuitable.

Those demands included a 10m-euro signing-on bonus and a net annual salary of 8m euros. Barcelona’s response has left Vlahovic weighing whether to accept one of the offers from Turkey or continue waiting in the hope that the Spanish club might reconsider.

Trabzonspor’s interest adds another option to the striker’s list following his exit from Juventus. The club have now made direct contact with his representatives and submitted an opening proposal, although the details of their financial package have not been disclosed.

The Turkish side’s pursuit of Vlahovic comes while its management continues to work on a deal for Salah. The club’s latest approach suggests it is seeking a major addition to its attack, with the former Juventus striker now among the players being considered.

For Vlahovic, the immediate decision remains whether to respond to Besiktas, assess Trabzonspor’s proposal or wait longer for Barcelona. His representatives’ earlier approach to the Catalan club did not result in the player becoming a priority, but his hopes of moving there remain central to the negotiations.

Trabzonspor have therefore joined Besiktas in pursuing Vlahovic, while the striker continues to consider his next destination after leaving Juventus.
