Real Madrid plan fresh approach for Manchester City midfielder Rodri

Real Madrid remain pessimistic about their chances of signing Manchester City midfielder Rodri but are preparing to make another attempt to reach an agreement with the Spain international.

The Spanish club still have only a small possibility of completing the transfer, according to ESPN Deportes journalist Rodra, who reported the latest development on social media. Despite the doubts within the club’s hierarchy, Real Madrid are not ready to abandon their interest and intend to try once more to persuade the player.

The situation leaves the proposed move uncertain. Real Madrid’s leadership is understood to retain a negative view of the likelihood of bringing Rodri to the club, yet the midfielder remains a target and the club plans to explore whether an agreement can still be found.

Earlier reports stated that Rodri was not satisfied with the financial terms offered by Real Madrid. Those conditions have therefore become a significant obstacle in negotiations, with the midfielder yet to be convinced by the proposal put forward by the Madrid club.

There has also been speculation that Barcelona are interested in signing Rodri. However, Rodra says Barcelona’s immediate focus is elsewhere. The Catalan club are currently concentrating on an attempt to sign Atletico forward Julian Alvarez rather than making Rodri their main priority.

That does not remove Barcelona from the wider picture, but it means Real Madrid’s proposed renewed approach comes while their domestic rivals are directing their attention towards a different player. Rodri’s future consequently remains unresolved, with Real Madrid still facing doubts over both the financial terms and the overall feasibility of the transfer.

For now, the midfielder remains a Manchester City player. Real Madrid’s position is cautious rather than confident: the club recognises that the deal would be difficult, but it is prepared to make another effort before ending its pursuit.

Rodri has consequently emerged as a transfer target surrounded by uncertainty. Real Madrid’s interest has not disappeared, even though the club’s decision-makers remain pessimistic about their prospects. The next attempt to negotiate with the player will determine whether those limited hopes can develop into a realistic chance of completing the move.

Barcelona’s reported interest provides an additional complication, although their current efforts are focused on Julian Alvarez. With Rodri unconvinced by Real Madrid’s financial offer and no agreement yet in place, the proposed transfer remains at an early and uncertain stage.
