Real Madrid bring in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande on deal running to 2033

Real Madrid have announced the signing of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with the 19-year-old joining the Spanish club on a long-term contract that runs until 30 June 2033.

The move was confirmed on Real Madrid’s official website, ending speculation over the teenager’s future. Diomande will leave the German side after representing them since 2025 and is due to play for Real Madrid next season.

Reports in the media had previously suggested that the transfer could be worth more than 120m euros once additional bonuses are included. Real Madrid did not disclose financial details in its announcement.

Diomande’s arrival follows a breakthrough period in his career. The winger played for RB Leipzig from 2025 and has now secured a move to one of Europe’s leading clubs at the age of 19.

He also represented Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup this summer. The national team reached the last 32 of the tournament, with Diomande involved in their campaign before their elimination at that stage.

His first competitive opportunity with Real Madrid will come in the opening round of the new Spanish league season. Real Madrid will travel to face Espanyol on 22 August.

The announcement means Diomande will begin the next stage of his career in Madrid after a brief spell in Germany. His contract length, which extends through the end of June 2033, reflects the club’s long-term commitment to the young winger.

Real Madrid’s confirmation also provides clarity ahead of the new season, with Diomande set to move from RB Leipzig to the Spanish capital after the World Cup. He is expected to be part of the squad for the campaign, beginning with the away fixture against Espanyol on 22 August.
