Pyramids FC have reportedly opened negotiations to sign Ahmed Nabil Kouka from Al Ahly SC ahead of the upcoming transfer window as the Egyptian side continues strengthening its squad for another title challenge.
The 24-year-old midfielder remains under contract with Al Ahly until the summer of 2026, but uncertainty surrounding a contract renewal has now placed his future under growing scrutiny.
According to reports, Pyramids president Mamdouh Eid has already made direct contact with the player as the club intensifies efforts to reinforce its midfield options before next season.
Pyramids are understood to have presented Kouka with a lucrative three-year proposal worth approximately 105 million Egyptian pounds.
The deal is reportedly structured progressively, with the midfielder set to earn 30 million Egyptian pounds in the first season, 35 million in the second year and 40 million in the final year of the agreement.
The significant financial package underlines Pyramids’ determination to remain aggressive in the transfer market as they continue building a squad capable of consistently competing for major domestic honours.
Despite the attractive offer, reports suggest Kouka’s long-term ambition remains focused on securing a move to Europe.
The midfielder is also believed to prefer waiting for Al Ahly to make a formal renewal proposal before making a final decision regarding his future.
Only if negotiations with the Cairo giants fail is he expected to seriously consider alternative options, including the approach from Pyramids.
Kouka has steadily developed into an important squad player since his promotion to Al Ahly’s senior team at the beginning of the 2021–22 season.
Although not always a guaranteed starter, he has become a reliable option within the team’s midfield rotation and has continued to earn valuable experience at both domestic and continental level.
During the current campaign, the midfielder has featured in 33 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal while maintaining a consistent role within the squad.
