Petrojet have signed Nigerian right winger Abubakar Liadi from Ittihad Alex, with the 23-year-old joining the Egyptian Premier League club on a contract running until 30 June 2028.
Liadi completes the move on 5 August 2026 after one season with Ittihad Alex. He joined that club from Smouha on a free transfer in August 2025, making Petrojet his third recorded Egyptian club.
Born in Ibadan, Liadi is a right-footed attacker whose primary position is on the right wing. He has also featured in Egyptian domestic competitions, recording 65 Premier League appearances, two goals and six assists during his career.
His league record is supplemented by 11 Egyptian League Cup appearances, in which he scored once and provided one assist. He has also scored once in six Egypt Cup games, while making five appearances in the relegation play-off.
Liadi’s move keeps him in the Egyptian top flight, with Petrojet and Ittihad Alex both competing in the Premier League. His arrival gives Petrojet another attacking player with experience of league and cup football in Egypt.
The winger’s most recent club change came after a season at Ittihad Alex, where he followed his move from Smouha. His previous transfer was completed without a fee, while no fee has been attached to his switch to Petrojet.
Liadi’s career has so far been based in Egypt, having joined Smouha in January 2022 before moving to Ittihad Alex three years later. He now continues that run with Petrojet, who have secured his services through the end of the 2027-28 season.
The completed transfer was registered on 5 August 2026, and Liadi is now a Petrojet player under contract until June 2028.
