Nigeria centre-back Chukwujekwu Ajanah-Chinedu completes Mitrovica move

Nigeria defender Chukwujekwu Ajanah-Chinedu has joined Mitrovica, switching from Slovakian side Galanta B on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old centre-back made the move on 4 August 2026. No contract length has been disclosed, but the transfer marks the latest step in a career that has taken him across Nigeria, Montenegro, Hungary, Croatia, Poland and Slovakia.

Ajanah-Chinedu began his senior career with Nigeria’s ABS FC before moving to Katsina United in January 2018. He then left Nigeria for Montenegro, joining OFK Titograd in July 2019. During his time in the Nigerian Professional Football League, he recorded 76 appearances and scored three goals.

The right-footed defender moved to Ujpest II in Hungary in July 2020, with a recorded market value of €100,000 at the time. He subsequently had loan spells with Croatian club NK Belisce and Polish side Vineta Wolin, returning to Ujpest II after each temporary move.

Following the end of his time with Ujpest II in July 2025, Ajanah-Chinedu spent a period without a club before joining Galanta B in September that year. His departure from the Slovakian side has now been followed by the move to Mitrovica.

Across the competitions recorded during his career, Ajanah-Chinedu has made 111 appearances and scored six goals. His record includes 20 appearances and two goals in Montenegro’s Meridianbet 1. CFL, as well as eight appearances and one goal in Poland’s Betclic 3 Liga – Group II.

Standing 1.88 metres tall, Ajanah-Chinedu adds experience at centre-back to a Mitrovica squad that has secured his services without a transfer fee. The Kosovo club is his latest destination after a series of moves and loans since he left Nigeria.

Ajanah-Chinedu is now a Mitrovica player after completing his free transfer from Galanta B.
