Nasiru Jibrin: Nigeria midfielder joins Barau FC on free transfer from Wikki Tourists

Nigeria attacking midfielder Nasiru Jibrin has joined Barau FC on a free transfer from Wikki Tourists.

The 24-year-old, who plays primarily as an attacking midfielder and is right-footed, moves after his contract with Wikki Tourists came to an end. The switch keeps him in Nigerian football, with Barau FC competing in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Jibrin arrives with top-flight experience, having made 56 NPFL appearances, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. Across those games he has accumulated 2,484 minutes, averaging a goal roughly every 355 minutes, underlining his contribution from midfield.

His move to Barau FC marks the latest step in a career spent largely in Nigeria, alongside a brief spell in Denmark with Jammerbugt FC. Domestically he has turned out for Akwa United, Katsina United, FC One Rocket and Wikki Tourists, building a resume that includes a Nigerian league title with Akwa United in the 2020-21 season.

Jibrin first joined Wikki Tourists in 2018, returned there in 2023 after time with FC One Rocket, and now departs again to take up a new challenge. His current market valuation stands at around €50,000, reflecting his status as an established NPFL midfielder.

The deal was finalised on 21 July 2026, with Jibrin now officially registered as a Barau FC player following his free transfer from Wikki Tourists.
