Moroccan centre-back Mohamed Jaouab of Real Valladolid is being linked with a return home, with Botola Pro side Raja Casablanca exploring a move for the 24-year-old defender.
Jaouab, who was born in Kasba Tadla and stands at 1.90m, is under contract with Valladolid until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would likely require a transfer fee rather than a free move. His current market valuation is around €600,000, a figure that is expected to form the starting point for any negotiations between the Spanish club and Raja.
The right-footed defender joined Valladolid from Stade Rennais on a free transfer on 1 August 2025 and has since broken into the professional game in Spain’s second tier. He has already shown an eye for goal in LaLiga2, scoring once in seven appearances, having previously gained regular minutes in Ligue 2 with Amiens, where he made 35 appearances and registered one assist.
Raja’s interest comes as they look to strengthen their defensive options with a Morocco-born player who has experience in both French and Spanish football and is approaching what is typically viewed as a key stage in a defender’s career. Jaouab’s background in the French system, including spells with Rennes’ senior side and B team, and his progression through competitive minutes in Ligue 2 and LaLiga2 add weight to his profile.
For now, Jaouab remains a Valladolid player, tied to a long-term deal in Spain, and any potential switch to Casablanca will hinge on whether Raja are prepared to meet the Spanish club’s valuation.
