Milan were Serie A’s biggest spenders during the 2026 summer transfer window, narrowly finishing ahead of Juventus, while Roma and Inter both missed out on the top three.
The ranking, compiled by Transfermarkt, places Milan’s total investment at €165.05m, with Juventus close behind on €164.35m. Fiorentina complete the top three after spending €150.30m on incoming transfers.
The figures include permanent transfers completed after loan spells. However, for loans that include an option or obligation to buy, only the initial loan fee is counted in the summer spending total.
That distinction is particularly relevant to several clubs, including Atalanta. Their deal for English winger Jonathan Rowe from Bologna is listed at €5m in the 2026 window, representing the fee paid for the loan. A further €35m is due next season, when the move is expected to become permanent.
Milan also completed the two most expensive signings made by Italian clubs during the window. Goncalo Ramos arrived for €74m, while Diego Moreira joined in a deal worth €65m including add-ons.
Juventus’ most significant purchase was Randal Kolo Muani, whose transfer was valued at €50m.
Napoli’s total shaped by permanent deals
Napoli are sixth in the spending table with an investment of €71.2m. Much of that figure is linked to deals that converted previous loan arrangements into permanent transfers.
The Partenopei paid €44m for Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United and €16.5m for Alisson Santos.
Their actual outlay on players brought in during the summer transfer window was below €5m. That total comprised €700,000 for Mattia Esposito’s loan from Sorrento, after which the player moved to Bari on loan, as well as €1m for Costantino Favasuli’s temporary move from Catanzaro.
Napoli also paid €3m to take Benoit Badiashile on loan from Chelsea.
Roma, despite spending €124.20m, were fourth in the overall ranking, while Inter were fifth on €101m. Como were the next-highest spenders outside the leading five, investing €64m.
