Milan are considering another attempt to sign Real Madrid forward Endrick on loan when the January transfer window opens, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian club tried to bring in the Brazilian during the summer and had reportedly secured the player’s agreement. However, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti rejected the proposal because he was not prepared to allow Endrick to leave.
Milan instead signed Omari Hutchinson on loan from Nottingham Forest. If Hutchinson fails to make a significant impact and Endrick continues to receive limited opportunities in Spain, Milan are expected to reassess the possibility of a January move.
Endrick has made only one appearance for Real Madrid this season, playing four minutes, after suffering a muscle injury. He has since gained match time with Brazil, featuring in three recent friendlies. He played twice against Australia and once against India, completing 139 minutes in total.
The 2022 move to Real Madrid was followed by a successful loan spell at Lyon. During the half-season arrangement in the first half of 2024, Endrick scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 21 matches.
The 19-year-old is now looking for more regular football at Real Madrid, although another temporary move could become an option if his situation does not improve.
Roma also in contention
Roma are currently regarded as Milan’s main rivals for Endrick. The club has already made initial contact with the player’s agency, Roc Nation, and is due to have the opportunity to discuss a possible deal with Real Madrid during a Champions League match on the 14th of this month.
Aston Villa previously tried to sign Endrick, but Real Madrid ruled out his departure at that stage.
Milan have worked in partnership with Roc Nation since 2020, with the relationship strengthened during Gerry Cardinale’s ownership. In August this year, Cardinale and Roc Nation co-invested in CardVault, a business involving Tom Brady.
Milan believe their existing relationship with Roc Nation could give them an advantage in negotiations over Endrick.
A permanent transfer is considered unlikely. Real Madrid paid 35 million euros plus 25 million euros in add-ons to sign the player in 2022. When Endrick joined Lyon on loan last winter, the fee was 1 million euros and the agreement did not include a purchase option.
Because of those terms, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that a six-month loan is the most realistic arrangement should Milan manage to reach an agreement in January.
