Turkish club Konyaspor have identified DR Congo international Arthur Masuaku as a key transfer target as they look to strengthen their defence before the start of the new season.
The experienced left-back has emerged as one of the club’s leading options after reports linked Konyaspor with a move for the 32-year-old, whose extensive experience in Turkish football is viewed as a major advantage.
According to reports from Turkey, discussions between Konyaspor and Masuaku’s representatives have already begun, although negotiations remain at an early stage.
The move comes after Konyaspor were unable to secure the signing of Ivory Coast international Ghislain Konan, prompting the club to turn its attention to another experienced African defender.
Masuaku’s profile has reportedly received the approval of head coach İlhan Palut, who is eager to reinforce the left side of his defence with a player capable of making an immediate impact.
The Congolese international is no stranger to Turkish football.
He spent three seasons with Beşiktaş, gaining valuable experience in the Süper Lig and establishing himself as a dependable option at left-back.
That familiarity with the Turkish game is believed to be one of the reasons Konyaspor have prioritised a move for him.
