Swedish-Tunisian attacking midfielder Kerim Mrabti, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to AEK Larnaca in the Cyprus League.
Mrabti, 32, became unattached after leaving Belgian side KV Mechelen on 1 July 2026. The reported interest from AEK Larnaca comes as the Cyprus club considers adding an experienced midfielder to its squad, although the move has not been confirmed.
The Nacka-born player spent six seasons with Mechelen after joining from Birmingham in August 2020. He made 151 appearances in Belgium’s top flight, scoring 31 goals and providing 20 assists, while also registering four goals in 13 Croky Cup appearances.
Mrabti began his senior career in Sweden with Enkopings SK and Sirius before moving to Djurgarden in 2015. He won the Swedish Cup with Djurgarden in 2018, then moved to Birmingham the following year before establishing himself at Mechelen.
His previous English spell included 27 Championship appearances and two FA Cup outings. Mrabti has primarily played as an attacking midfielder and is listed as right-footed.
AEK Larnaca’s reported interest represents the first transfer link since Mrabti’s departure from Mechelen. The player remains without a club, with no agreement confirmed between the two parties.
