Noel Futkeu, the German-Cameroonian forward currently at Frankfurt, has been linked with a move to 2. Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
Futkeu, 23, joined Frankfurt from Greuther Furth on 1 July in a transfer listed at €1.3m. He had spent the previous two seasons with Furth after moving from Eintracht Frankfurt II, where he had arrived from Schwarz-Weiß Essen in 2023.
The centre-forward finished the 2025-26 campaign as the 2. Bundesliga’s top scorer, scoring 19 goals. Across his 2. Bundesliga career, he has recorded 30 goals and eight assists in 68 appearances.
The reported interest from Kaiserslautern would represent a possible return to Germany’s second tier after Futkeu’s recent move to Frankfurt. His market value is listed at €7.5m.
Futkeu was born in Essen and is also eligible to represent Cameroon through his nationality. He has played primarily as a right-footed centre-forward during his senior career.
No agreement has been confirmed, and the move remains at the rumour stage. Futkeu is currently listed as a Frankfurt player, with his role defined as centre-forward.
