Junior Dina Ebimbe, the Cameroon-born French midfielder currently at Eintracht Frankfurt, is being linked with a summer move to Bundesliga rivals FC Schalke 04. The 25-year-old right-sided midfielder is understood to be on Schalke’s radar as they look to strengthen their options out wide ahead of the new campaign.
Talk of a potential switch has gathered momentum in recent days, with the probability of a deal currently assessed at just over 50%. Schalke are exploring whether Frankfurt would be prepared to part with the former Paris Saint-Germain player, who has a contract running until 30 June 2027. Any negotiations are expected to be shaped by his current valuation of around €6m.
Dina Ebimbe rejoined Frankfurt this summer following a season-long loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois. He originally moved to the Bundesliga club on loan from PSG in August 2022 before making the transfer permanent in July 2023 for a reported €6.5m fee. During his time in Germany he has featured regularly in the league, making 57 Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt and contributing eight goals and six assists.
Capable of operating on the right of midfield and comfortable on his preferred right foot, Dina Ebimbe has also shown an eye for goal in European competition, scoring three times in eight Europa Conference League outings. He was part of PSG’s 2021–22 Ligue 1 title-winning squad and finished as a DFB-Pokal runner-up with Frankfurt in 2022–23.
With two years left on his deal, Frankfurt are under no immediate pressure to sell, leaving Schalke to decide whether to firm up their interest in the versatile midfielder in the coming weeks.
