Isaac Babadi, the Netherlands and Sierra Leone attacking midfielder, has joined Sparta Rotterdam from PSV on loan until 30 June 2027.
The 21-year-old moves within the Eredivisie after returning to PSV at the end of last season following a loan spell with Belgian club Royal Antwerp. His move to Sparta Rotterdam was completed on 2 September 2026, with the Dutch club securing his services for the 2026-27 campaign.
Babadi is a right-footed attacking midfielder who was born in Nijmegen and stands 1.79m tall. He has not yet featured for Sparta this season, with the club’s opening four Eredivisie matches and the Johan Cruijff Schaal already recorded without an appearance from him.
The move gives Babadi an opportunity to continue his senior career away from PSV, where he progressed through the club’s youth system. He joined PSV from NEC’s youth set-up in 2018, moving through the under-17, under-18 and under-21 teams before joining the senior squad in September 2023.
Babadi spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Royal Antwerp, before returning to PSV when that arrangement ended on 30 June 2026. He now returns to the Eredivisie with Sparta, with his agreement at the Rotterdam club running until the end of June 2027.
The midfielder has won two Dutch league titles with PSV, in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, and was part of the club’s Dutch Super Cup-winning sides in 2024 and 2026. He also won the Premier League International Cup during his development in England-based competition involving academy sides.
Sparta Rotterdam are the latest club in Babadi’s progression since he first entered organised football with NEC’s youth teams. His loan follows an earlier temporary move to Royal Antwerp and represents his second spell away from PSV.
Babadi has completed a loan move from PSV to Sparta Rotterdam, with the transfer confirmed on 2 September 2026.
