Hakimi becomes most decorated African footballer of all-time with 19 trophies

Achraf Hakimi has reached a new milestone in his career after winning a third UEFA Champions League title, taking his total trophy haul to 19 major honours and moving him clear as the most decorated African player in football history.

The Moroccan international’s latest triumph adds to an already extensive list of silverware collected across Spain, Germany, Italy, France and on the international stage.

Hakimi began his trophy-winning journey at Real Madrid, where he was part of a squad that lifted the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the Spanish Super Cup in 2017–18.

He later won the DFL-Supercup during a spell with Borussia Dortmund before moving on to Inter Milan, where he captured the Serie A title in the 2020–21 season.

His most prolific period has come at Paris Saint-Germain, where he has amassed multiple Ligue 1 titles between 2021 and 2026, alongside domestic cup successes and repeated Super Cup victories.

His time in France has also delivered additional European glory, including two Champions League triumphs and a UEFA Super Cup.

On the international stage, Hakimi played a key role in Morocco’s historic Africa Cup of Nations victory in 2025, further cementing his reputation as one of the most successful African players of his generation.

His total of 19 major trophies places him ahead of former African greats such as Yaya Touré and Samuel Eto’o, both of whom previously set the benchmark for continental success.

Hakimi’s consistency across Europe’s top leagues and his international achievements have combined to create a career record few defenders in modern football can match.
