France-Cameroon defender Fred Ondoa Onambele has joined FC Villefranche from ESTAC Troyes B on loan, completing a move that keeps the 19-year-old in French football for the 2026-27 campaign.
The left-back’s transfer was completed on 4 August 2026, with the loan running until 30 June 2027. Ondoa Onambele’s contract at Villefranche is scheduled to end on that date, when he is due to return to Troyes B.
Villefranche compete in Ligue 3, while Troyes B play in National 1 Group C. The move therefore places the teenager in a new senior environment as he continues his progression after coming through the Troyes system.
Ondoa Onambele spent the 2025-26 season with ESTAC Troyes B after moving up from Troyes’ under-19 side in July 2025. He had previously joined the under-19s from Troyes’ under-17 team, having first arrived at the club’s youth setup in 2023.
His record includes 23 appearances and seven goals in National 2, along with one assist. He also scored once in three Coupe Gambardella appearances and made a Ligue 2 appearance, playing two minutes. The defender has also featured in National U19, where he made 19 appearances and scored once.
Born in Yaounde, Ondoa Onambele stands 1.83m tall and is naturally left-footed. His primary position is left-back, giving Villefranche a young option on the left side of their defence for the coming season.
The loan represents another step in a career that has so far been spent entirely within the Troyes structure. His move from the club’s reserve team to Villefranche provides a change of surroundings while preserving Troyes’ option to bring him back at the end of the agreement.
Ondoa Onambele has therefore moved to FC Villefranche on loan from ESTAC Troyes B until 30 June 2027.
